TORCH - Academic Excellence & Service

Torch members hold themselves to a high standard of academic achievement.  In order to be a member in Torch, students must maintain a 3.5 GPA. Torch members are encouraged to become active members of their community by volunteering for a local organization.  Each year, students need to donate at least 16 hours of community service.  Some students have volunteered at animal shelters, hospitals, elementary schools, youth groups and many more places. Every year Torch leads a canned food drive where the students of CPM collect and donate nonperishable foods to support and sustain our very own food bank here at CPM. Any interested student with a 3.5 GPA or higher is welcome to join Torch.  8th Grade members will be inducted this fall. For interested 7th graders, sign-up will begin at the beginning of 2nd semester. Monthly meetings will be held in Room 18 (Ms. Hyppa’s room) during Cougar Achievement.
