Take Action Club

The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” — Mahatma Gandhi

Take Action is a volunteer club open to all CPM students who are dedicated to making a difference in their local and global communities. Take Action students set up several campaigns throughout the school year to help various charities that support these communities. Examples of events we have done are selling rafiki’s to support women and children in Kenya, donation drives to help build schools in impoverished countries, clothing donation drives, and toiletries drives for homeless shelters. During the 2017-2018 school year, we are adding something new by holding an art supply drive this May to donate to Children’s Hospital patients in Seattle. All CPM students are free to volunteer with any campaign throughout the school year! The only requirement to join is that students are interested and passionate about helping their community. Those wishing to record their volunteer hours need to turn in their volunteer forms at the end of every month. Forms are available in room 15.

Jen Haugen is the Take Action Club Advisor and the club usually meets twice a week after school. Currently, we are meeting on Tuesdays after school but in the spring will be meeting on Thursdays.

In the spring, 25 students are invited to attend We Day based on their community service hours and their contributions to the Take Action Club campaigns throughout the school year. Students must help with Take Action campaigns in order to be considered to attend We Day.
