ASB

"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." John Quincy Adams

ASB stands for Associated Student Body and it represents the interests and goals of the entire College Place Middle School student body. ASB is the principal student government body on our campus headed by four officers: president, vice president, secretary and treasurer who govern the entire student body. The leadership class consists of the ASB officers, senators, and accepted applicants. Students are also invited to be a Cougar Achievement representative where they attend student council meetings and facilitate communication between ASB and the student body.

Students who participate in ASB do so because they recognize that there is more to being successful at College Place Middle School than simply doing homework. Creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere during the school day where students feel wanted and accepted is a primary goal of ASB. To that end, the officers and appointed members of the ASB class focus on creating and providing engaging activities that ensure a well-rounded experience for all students at CPM.

Students in ASB plan, organize, and participate in such activities as dances, spirit days, cultural events, assemblies, etc. Most of the funds for ASB come from our annual fundraiser held in the fall. Our annual fundraiser helps finance any of the student activities at CPM.

Students must maintain high academic grades and demonstrate exemplary citizenship both in and outside the classroom to remain in ASB. Additionally, student leaders are required to attend monthly meetings with the administration to discuss events going on at CPM. Students are elected or appointed to ASB each spring for the following school year. If you are interested in being a leader at CPM, consider running for an office.
